Team Spotlight - Joshua Herbeck

Reconnecting with our teams and loved ones as we prepare for the holidays, we like to consider what we’re thankful for. Something we’re thankful for at AVH is creating the perfect space, for the perfect moment.

When collaboration in a space is memorable and moving, it’s impactful and creative. It’s the type of place the moments we strive for as teams are born. They’re fantastic moments – when thinking is elevated, brilliant ideas are flowing, and sharing is second nature to everyone. Things reliably just click, and gatherings run like clockwork. The goal of many team projects is to create this type of fine-tuned clockwork in a reliable, user-friendly manner. Yet, all too often, spaces lack the precise configurations that are key to delivering ideal performance with any consistency. The weakest link in any system often hides in the smallest of details.

As it turns out, crafting these moments takes hands with experience, eyes with precision, and an all-too uncommon attention to detail.

Thankfully, AVH Technology Partner’s Josh Herbeck has all the above.

Joshua Herbeck - Senior Field Engineer, AVH Technology Partners

Josh has been with AVH since February 17th, 2010. He knows the exact day, and just to be sure - He double-checked. He double checks even on occasions he’s sure, and those seem to be, well, always. Josh is, to put it mildly, a fan of precision. Investing in this level of precision ensures that spaces behave as expected, and users aren’t left solving the types of issues that Josh has already preempted. It’s likely this level of exactness that earned Josh a listing on Most Influential People in the AV Business 40 Under 40. This same dedication to getting things right is why Josh represents what makes each AVH Project so unique and worry-free.

It’s more than brilliant ideas for Herbeck – noticing the finest details requires having a close eye on the process, up-close and personal. Josh has honed this level of remarkable attention to detail over a 22-year career of field engineering and commissioning. From hands-on experience applying his pitch-perfect hearing as FOH for countless roaring fans in stadiums, to bespoke collaboration spaces for the most discrete of clients with the most secure networks, Josh has seen just about every scenario; and driven success each step of the way.

Thankfully, once again, Josh is more than happy to share our secret to this success:

“It’s being there every step of the way. Normal consultants will disappear once the integrator is hired. We follow the process from beginning to end. We are heavily involved in the commissioning process, defining equipment settings, checking levels, testing user experience and even provide user training.”, Herbeck shares. After a brief thought, he also notes – “Often, we’re there more than the integrator. Clients are surprised when they experience this for the first time.”

While it’s easy to be thankful for brilliant ideas and exactness to detail, there are still a great number of challenges that are harder to welcome to the table. One of these challenges which many teams are up against is exactly that – bringing people together effectively. Josh’s insight from 22 years:

Your spaces are opportunities to inspire with technology. We provide two kinds of solutions, and they’re similar to one another: Engage in good broadcasting spaces. Show hybrid team members on the far-end you’re serious about their experience. We can work with any business model. For your employees working remotely, we can build impressive broadcast spaces for you, from start to finish. For your team close by, we can make being in the office as interesting as possible. We keep it fun, and make sure the whole process is painless. When you present these options, you make working as a team enjoyable.”

If your team is interested in using your space to bring ideas and people together, and in working with brilliant minds like Josh to do so, AVH is interested in speaking with you.

We’d be thankful to be a part of making your idea into your next great success story.
