Role: Steve oversees company operations, negotiates contracts, and develops strategies to improve and expand the services that AVH provides. He also identifies clients’ needs and educates them on the latest innovations in audiovisual technologies, enabling them to make informed decisions. His hands-on experience with all facets of the integration process gives him unique insight into an ever-evolving technological landscape.
Experience: Steve founded AVH with Collin Hogan in 2003 and is a nationally recognized industry expert. With over 31 years of practical experience – including technical design, project management and executive management – he brings a wealth of knowledge to his clients. His focus on developing real-world applications for the latest audiovisual technology has helped AVH stay in front of industry trends for over 17 years. After earning his CTS-D in 1999, Steve helped develop the CTS-D oral examination, and for several years administered it.
Role: Collin manages the engineering team and ultimately ensures the quality and accuracy of AVH’s designs and technical schematics. His design philosophy is to identify the simplest and most cost-effective solution to any given challenge. Often this requires in-depth collaboration with architects and other trades. When engineering challenges arise, AVH is fortunate to draw upon his vast technical experience.
Experience: Collin founded AV Helpdesk with Steve Grace in 2003. After earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Syracuse University, he entered the AV industry as a draftsperson and was soon promoted to engineer. Working in both residential and commercial AV, he earned his CTS-D in 2002 and for several years administered the CTS-D oral exam. Since starting at AVH, he has been instrumental in growing the company and furthering its reputation as an industry innovator. Collin has also assumed many roles within the organization, providing him with additional experience and perspective.
Role: Ed oversees the Boston office while keeping AVH projects on track. After meeting with clients to understand their needs, he represents their interests to the project team, ensuring that all technical aspects of the project are delivered as intended. This often requires collaboration with architects and various construction trades. Ed’s pragmatic approach to problem solving is a major asset not only as a project manager, but in myriad other ways that directly address our clients’ needs.
Experience: After attending Erie Community College for Electronic Technology, Ed started an AV integration company in Buffalo, New York. He moved to Boston in 2000, working as a project manager for various local AV integrators before joining AVH in 2005. Ed earned his CTS-D in 2002, and has managed AV projects as large as four million dollars and as far away Shanghai, China.
Role: As both a project manager and account manager, Denise ensures we fulfill our commitments on time, on budget, and to our clients’ complete satisfaction. Her exceptional communication skills are vital in coordinating the efforts of various trades throughout the construction process, and her steadfast representation of the client’s interests is invaluable in maintaining healthy partner relationships.
Experience: Denise started in the AV industry in 1998 and spent her first eight years working in technical services, procurement and logistics. After joining AVH in 2006, she found her calling as a project manager and has since steered hundreds of projects to completion. Denise’s role in establishing and nurturing client relationships over the years makes her an instrumental part of AVH’s success.
Role: Chris Bowie engineers audiovisual systems based on client needs and project scope. He specializes in product research and strives to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of AV product offerings. Along with the rest of the engineering team, Chris develops architectural and schematic drawings with exceptional attention to detail. He is also responsible for producing AVH’s highly detailed request-for-proposal packages. Chris regularly communicates with architects, project managers, general contractors and clients to address any questions and concerns that may arise throughout the design process.
Experience: A member of our team since 2013, Chris marshals over 23 years of experience in the commercial audiovisual industry. Prior to joining AVH, he held various management, technical and engineering positions with a New England-based audiovisual integrator. Before entering the AV industry, Chris graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree and worked in the design/construction trade. Chris currently resides in southern Maine where he enjoys “the way life should be.”
Role: Josh Herbeck’s responsibilities extend from field engineering to quality control. He works closely with integrators to ensure a timely closeout of every project while also maintaining AVH's industry-leading quality control standards. This requires collaboration with technicians, project managers, IT, data contractors, electrical contractors and any other trade involved in bringing the project to completion. Josh also provides ongoing technical support to clients looking to supplement their existing services with top-level expertise and follow-through.
Experience: Josh attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned a B.A. in Music Production and Engineering. In 2000 he began working in concert production as a stagehand, sound engineer, rigger and crew chief for multiple area production companies, eventually traveling the country as a tour manager and front-of-house engineer. After life on the road, he discovered AV integration in 2005. He has since earned his CTS and many other industry and manufacturer certifications. Josh has been with AVH since 2011. Currently, he serves as acting Vice President of his condo association in Providence, Rhode Island. He has a passion for all things culinary and is a highly devoted music enthusiast.
Role: Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining drafting strategy and processes, Brad has brought the AVH drawing package to a new level of professionalism. He has a keen eye for design and specializes in making any document more intuitive. His goal on every project is to communicate technical requirements as clearly and concisely as possible, leaving no room for misinterpretation.
Experience: After working in the residential/commercial construction trade for over a decade, Brad earned a Certificate in Architectural Drafting & Design and began his second career as a CAD Engineer. He has worked predominantly in the commercial architecture field, but has also thrived in the civil and electrical engineering disciplines. Brad joined AVH in 2015 and brought a level of CAD experience and expertise uncommon in the AV industry.
Role: Responsible for the development of backend processes, document development, and data analysis, Brandon also serves as an associate engineer and junior designer. He brings the intricate technical details of AVH Technology Partners designs to life graphically in brilliant, easily understandable ways, so our clients can navigate every step of their projects effortlessly. Every project is a unique opportunity to discover how technology can benefit the specialized needs of the client, and Brandon’s aim is to make understanding each unique solution as simple and straightforward as possible.
Experience: Brandon’s career path from a studio musician to studio designer found him behind the mix console for many years, both as an engineer and editor/operator. After AVID Operator and Expert certification in both audio for music and post in 2009, Brandon sought a degree in Engineering and Business Administration from LeTourneau University in 2019. Having spent countless hours running live audio and recording/broadcast sessions, Brandon’s experience with multimedia systems is varied and directly applicable to many client’s projects. His familiarity with recording system layout and design is founded in an intimate understanding of the needs of technical operators in both studio and live event environments alike. Brandon joined AVH in 2022, seeking to elevate the way our clients understand the technology that drives their productivity.
